How to Make Seashell Wine Glass Charms

To make these seashell wine glass charms get out all of your supplies and lay them on a clean working surface. You might want to lay some newspaper out to protect your table as well.

We will be making a set of 4 seashell wine glass charms. Since these charms are so your guests will be able to tell the charms apart easily, you will want each seashell or the beads and ribbon to look different from the others.
You can do this by choosing different ribbon colors, bead colors or just picking out a different seashell for each charm!

  • Step 1

Grab your first seashell and use the felt to cut out a pattern to match your seashell on the back. You will be gluing the felt to the back of the seashell. This is optional but I wanted to do this because I don’t want the shell to scratch my glasses when it rubs up against it.

When you have your pattern cut out lay it to the side.

    Step 2

Grab your seashell, wire and glue gun. Depending on the gauge of the wire you can either double it up or use just one. The wire needs to be around 16 inches long. This might be too long, however, you can always cut it down later if it is too long.

Use your best judgment and ask yourself if it would hold up while being tugged at or flipping around the wine glass during dinner parties.

    Step 3
You will put a dab of glue on the back of your seashell and attach the middle of your wire. Basically, you want the seashell to be in the middle of your wire, sort of like a necklace pendant would.

Once you have your glue on the back of the seashell glue down the wire and also add glue to the rest of your seashell. Grab your white felt that you have laid to the side and attach it to the back of your seashell.

Be sure to press the wire into the felt so it is firmly in place.

    Step 4

Next, you will add your beads. You can use solid colors or alternate them as well. Just be sure to make each charm different from the other.

    Step 5

Add your pretty ribbon if desired. Lastly you will simply loop the wire around your last bead on either end of your wire. Do this several times to ensure all your beads are secure. I added on this shiny sticky backing instead of felt, use whatever you think will look best!

You are now finished and ready to enjoy your homemade seashell wine glass charm!
