So first, you need to start with the heart wall décor. Grab it and make sure it is clean and dry. Then add a coat of dark paint. This is the paint that will show up once you sand it to bring out the distressed look.

You might choose a black or dark blue, whichever one you prefer make sure it is the right paint for your item; remember that plastic items need special plastic paint.

Next you will add the second or top coat to your heart, and add extra coats to completely cover it up.
Once it is dry, get out your sand paper and start to sand the edges and corners to reveal the bottom color.
Once you are done, hang up and enjoy.
